There are several "forms" to a floral arrangement, but if you are working on a first project the traditional arrangement is the simplest. Glads, snaps, delphinium and any tall flower is considered a "line" flower as this establishes the height of your design. Next, focal flowers such as gerberas, orchids and gardenias serve as the focus of the design, drawing your eye to these. Callas, deli star mums, alstromeria and Birds can also be used as focal flowers. Daisy mums and freesia, I would consider as a more prominent filler than caspia or baby's breath. Forsythia is a great line flower or interesting backdrop for snaps or colorful line flower and also adds texture and interest to a Spring floral piece. Good luck and let your creative juices flow.
