How far beyond the "best before date" is it safe to continue taking vitamin suppliments? What are the risks?

If it says "Best Before" it means that it will be safe to use even years after the expiry, the vitamins will probably lose their.. ummm, "vitamins".. but they will still be safe to consume.
"Use By" is a strict time limit; foods like coleslaw may taste okay but be unsafe to eat where as eggs, although they have a Use By date, will tell you when they have gone off because they will stink of sulphur.
