Vase Perfect

Any good anxiety disorder solutions?
I have a 2 yr. old German Shorthair. Murphy is a GREAT dog. Never aggresive, very loving, energetic, knows tons of tricks, well behaved, listens great, etc. He's the perfect dog until we leave him alone in the house. He turns into a tornado! Knocks everything over (plants, pictures, vases, etc) and sometimes uses the laundry room as a potty! I have got to find a solution without having to tranq the poor fella!
I would either crate him, or maybe use an x-pen when you have to leave him alone. Make sure he's been exercised for at least a good hour/hour and a half before you leave, leave a radio on tuned to a station with soothing music, and make sure he has plenty of things to chew on to keep him busy. You might also want to try rescue remedy for pets. They sell it at health food stores. You can put a drop or two in his water bowl, on his ears and paws. Or a DAP diffuser (dog appeasing pheromone) is supposed to release pheromones that are like the momma dog gives off.
